Session Cancellations
I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. This means I charge in full for any sessions cancelled within 48 hours.
Confidentiality
I am a member of United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and fully abide by their Code of Ethics and Professional Practice (2019). I will only breach confidentiality if I have concerns about yours or someone else’s emotional or physical wellbeing or safety. In such exceptional circumstances, I will normally consult you first, and contact your GP. It is therefore a requirement of my practice that you provide your GP details and permission for me to contact them if needed. I will be obliged to breach confidentiality if I have significant concerns about Child Safeguarding concerns or legal concerns to do with Drug Trafficking or Terrorism. I may also be obliged to answer questions about you in a court of law.
Data
I have a registration form that has your details and is kept in a locked filing cabinet. I may keep brief notes, identified by a code, not your name. I will destroy these six months after our work together. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to say what happens to the data I keep. You have the right: to be informed / of access / to rectification / of erasure / to data portability / to object.
Behaviour
I reserve the right to cancel a session if you arrive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or non-prescribed medication. I will always speak with you about this and signpost you to appropriate alternative support, if this is relevant.
Supervision
I am required to present my work in clinical supervision to ensure safe and effective practice. All supervision is done on a confidential basis and I will not disclose your identity.
Breaks
There will be times when I take holidays and I will give you as much notice as possible. I also ask you to provide me with as much notice as possible when you want to take holidays or have breaks for other reasons.
Endings
When you want to end your therapy we can discuss this in your session and agree an ending process. I ask for a minimum of one weeks’ notice in order to consolidate your learning, tie up any lose ends and bring our working relationship to a successful close.
